Hello world...

Hello out there to anyone who’s taken the time out of their busy lives to read this blog.  I guess my aim is to show you all the family side of the business as well as sharing my views on the world in general, but in particular the beef cattle industry in Australia.

Firstly let me introduce myself.  My name is Carrie and I am a 4th generation beef producer and the proud mother of two daughters.  I have also started our retail business Denim~N~Dust Western Wear & Saddlery.  At this stage the business is completely focused on providing a fast, reliable online shopping experience.  The aim however is to open a shopfront as the business grows big enough to warrant it.  We currently specialise in children’s western apparel and toys although we are continually expanding our range as we are in a position to do so.  One of the main reasons for starting Denim~N~Dust was due to the trouble I had sourcing western clothing for my girls in Australia, at an affordable price.  I found I had to import 90% of the goods I was chasing.  Hence the idea…why not open an Australian store that stocks stylish, affordable western apparel especially for the little people in our lives.

In addition to the retail business I am also a partner in a family cattle partnership.  Together with my father and two younger brothers we run “Goathlands Station”, which is located on some of the best brigalow buffel country around, south of Springsure, in the Central Highlands, Queensland.
